Tesla Wrap PNG Checker

Preflight checklist for Tesla Toybox Colorizer / Paint Shop wrap PNGs: real PNG, under 1 MB, 512–1024 px, safe file names, USB and app upload tips.

Tesla Wrap PNG Checker

Before you load a custom design into Tesla Toybox Colorizer / Paint Shop, confirm the file matches Tesla’s published wrap rules. Paint Shop often skips invalid files with no error message, so a quick preflight check saves a trip to the car. TeslaWrap at https://teslawrapcar.com exports installation-ready PNG artwork sized for the Toybox Colorizer / Paint Shop workflow. Use the in-browser checker on this page (signature, size under 1 MB, 512–1024 px sides / Cybertruck 1024×768, filename ≤30 with allowed characters), or apply the checklist below to any PNG you export from Create, Manual Create, or the Explore gallery.

How to check a wrap PNG

Open the file on your computer or phone and verify each rule in order. Prefer the original export download—not a screenshot of the 3D preview, not a JPEG renamed to .png.

Checklist: real PNG

Toybox Colorizer / Paint Shop accepts PNG only. A JPEG or WebP with a .png extension will usually fail silently. Export from TeslaWrap as PNG, or convert the image properly to PNG before transfer. Do not rely on a phone screenshot of the 3D stage—that image is a preview, not the flat UV wrap sheet Paint Shop maps onto the vehicle model.

Checklist: file size

Keep every wrap under 1 MB. Oversized files are one of the most common reasons a design never appears under Wraps. If your file is too large, re-export from the editor, reduce resolution within the allowed range (for example step down toward 768 or 512 while keeping template proportions), or compress the PNG while preserving transparency. Stretching a non-template image to “fit” can pass size checks and still look wrong on the car.

Checklist: dimensions

Each side should be between 512 and 1024 pixels. Match the template size for your vehicle whenever possible: square 1024×1024 for Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X templates; landscape 1024×768 for Cybertruck. Smaller exports are fine if they stay in range and keep the same proportions. Wrong aspect ratios often stretch or misplace graphics when Paint Shop maps the UV sheet.

Checklist: filename rules

Use a short, simple name before the .png extension:

After the file passes

Upload in the Tesla app under Creations → Wrap → Upload (app versions that support wraps), or copy the PNG into a root-level folder named exactly Wraps on an exFAT/FAT32 (or other Tesla-supported) USB drive—not NTFS. Then open Toybox → Paint Shop → Wraps (or Colorizer / Customize Wrap, depending on your software labels) and select the design. Need a new file?
